What would be reasons you would have to start the program all over again?

I'm really confused on how my one friend had to start over to the first semester of RN program for her Associates degree. She was in it, in her third semester, and she had to start all the way back to her first semester. I'm just curious on how this makes sense. I don't want to ask her because I don't want to make her feel bad.

The only reason I can think of is if she was kicked out of the program and had to reapply.

Just ask her one day. I can't think of any reason why they would make her start all the way over are you sure that she was ever in nursing school? Did she get kicked out? Did she go back to the same exact school or a different one?

Was she caught cheating but made a deal to stay in?

Her skills were found lacking and alternative to being kicked out was to retake the first semester?

She failed a class but managed to slide through?

She had too long of a break?

She withdrew and then needed to reapply?

The main reason I can really think of is that there was too long of a break between nursing classes.
