What questions I'll expect during phone screen interview?

Published

Anyone that has an idea what questions I will be expecting during a phone screen interview?

I've been reading posts here, and aside from having a comfortable space for a 30 minute

interview, I'd like to know what topics I will be reviewing for this situation.

Is this where the behavioral interview comes?

I hope someone will share their experience in this scenario.

I will be very grateful for any inputs. Many thanks.

I've had a handful of phone interviews lately. Some were very short, while others really did last 30 minutes. In all of them, I was asked about why I wanted to work there and my previous positions and responsibilities. Some interviewers wanted me to go into more detail about why I left previous jobs. Usually the interviewer spoke at length about the facility, the patient population on the unit, and the requirements of the job. I have never been asked questions like "tell me about a difficult situation with a co-worker or patient" in a phone interview. I think they save those for in-person, but be prepared for that anyway.

Did you have your interview yet? My last phone interview was only about 5 minutes, and it ended with "The recruiters will be calling people next week. Thanks for your time." I thought for sure I blew it and I was confused because I thought I was already talking to a recruiter. But they did call me, scheduled an in-person interview, and yesterday I was offered the position.

Hi clovery, congratulations of that position offer! and thanks for your inputs. I really needed it.

My phone interview will be next week, and I'm overloaded with notes that I don't know which one

to concentrate. Anyway, this will be my first phone interview, and I hope I can be in my best.

I really wanted this job.

I was told that I will have a 30 minute time.

Hey charr-RN,

I've had 2-3 phone interviews in the past. I say practice general interview questions like : Tell me about yourself, what are your goals in nursing? Why nursing?Strengths and weaknesses? Know the hospital's mission, values just in case they ask a question about that.

Google up interview questions and practice! Try not to freak out too much before and during your interview.Make sure you have a pen and paper to take notes and you are in a quiet place with reception(if you are using a cellphone). Oh and prepare to have questions for the interviewer like : how long is the training? is it a 12 hr shift?things like that. It shows them you are interested!

Goodluck!

Thanks RNEABV for that inputs.

I will be applying as Research Nurse and will use a celphone.

I hope I will not lost a good signal, and planning to position myself

close to the window.
