I have been having a heck of a time getting back on here! I've read posts but this week has just been whacked!
Last year I kind of spaced on this. I had researched a lot about the district, and knew the answers to the questions I would have asked.
Any good go to questions you would ask a principal on a hiring committee?

Why are they looking for a new hire? What has been the tenure of past nurses in the building? Describe the culture of the building? How would you describe an ideal candidate?

How do you see my role in the building as a team member? What are your expectations as far as policy development and committees? How do you view my role as a staff educator? This will show them you are thinking beyond the confines of your office.

How many students are in the building? What are their medical needs? How does the current nurse interact with faculty and staff and what is that relationship like? How would you handle a parent who was upset that I dismissed their child because she didn't agree with my decision?

How would you handle a teacher who is upset with my decision to keep a child in school or send a child home? What would you say is the greatest challenge to these children in getting their education? What would you say is your greatest challenge to your relationships with the parents? And yeah, would definitely ask why there is an opening/how long was the previous nurse their nurse.
In my interview for this job, I believe I asked if there was anything that concerned them about my background or experience. Not sure why I did but they said no.
Great questions! I know the answers to the first two 3/4 retirement, long time in all positions, and then 4th was hired last year, and is moving due to a spouse.
These are great and I wrote down all of the questions you all wrote down and took them with me!
Great questions! I have them written down! I didn't even get to ask any questions. It was this quick 15 minute interview where I got asked a few questions by each of the 3 schools represented. The director of nursing services was there and he asked me nothing. This is the fourth interview with me he has been in! So he's pretty much got the skinny.
Thanks so much for the great questions. Like I said above, I didn't get to ask them (yet!). It was a real first interview†where I was there for a whopping 15 minutes. Before my interview ended, however, the director told me that he was going to be calling me next week for a second interview. Which kind of shocked the others, because apparently they were not going to tell anyone that. But I'm already in the district part time, and there are a ton of people pushing for me to get on full time. So….we shall see.
In the end, it was a real positive, and I am hopeful that I can get at least one of the positions offered to me. Step one is DONE…on to Step TWO.
