i am from the ft. wayne area.

i just graduated from the university of st. francis with my asn and will be taking boards in february(just got my att friday)

i have worked in a burn unit as a tech/extern and now a gn for almost 2 years and i was just hired as a full-time rn(now i just need to pass boards-no pressure!)

i'm going back to school in the fall for my bsn-just don't know where yet!

I took my classes - science and such at the Marion, Indiana Ivy Tech - which only has a bridge program and I cannot seem to come up with the money and admittance to a different Ivy Tech program at the same time. I would love to move - but poverty prevents it. I would commute - but have to work, have an old car and not enough time and money. The Tucker program will not accept Ivy Tech credit so I cannot afford to take that one (they also don't allow you to work while in the program - is my understanding). I am considering taking a CNA class - but CNA work here is lowly paid and very bad environment. I am not getting any younger either and wonder if I would make a better Lab Tech instead - but that program is no where near me either. So unless a miracle happens and I have a cash windfall - I think I am stuck. IWU and Taylor have BS programs but - they are so incredibly expensive and knock so many students out each semester - that I don't think those programs are suited for me.

i am currently in the cna program, but i am planning on becoming an rn eventually.

while i've only done some clinicals so far i really think i will love being a nurse, i can't wait.

Welcome! I am in Kokomo and also went to IVY Tech (Kokomo) for my LPN and Excelsior for my RN.

I live near Bloomington IN, but I work in Columbus. I am a RN in the ER and love my job. It is different everyday, so I never dread going in to work!!!!
