We are finally going back in person, hybrid, in March. I need some office policies. What have you implemented?  My school is K-6, and we have a medical waiting room (covid only), but for non covid visits I need to put some policies in place.

So far I have been thinking that daily meds will be by appointment time only.  Teachers must call me before sending anyone down. Only one student in office at a time (my office is small).

What else do you do?

What about students who have to use the nurses bathroom? And how are bathroom visits done in your school in general?

Thanks for any help! I realize I am late to the party!

I would say at the high school, the policies were followed strictly at first except, the big one, no one took temps at the doors. The supt. was going back and forth about the body scanners but didn't do anything. He was/is relying on the parent to screen them before the leave home. Nope, they're not doing that. Instead now as of Feb-Apr, more are coming to school already ill and they know it. smh. Mom needs to go work. Mom wants the nurse to excuse to go home or see if you make it and then go to the nurse. What! These are half-grown teens with parents trying to come test on state test, sick, to get into college. What! So I'm looking forward to the end of this year. Oh yeah, they are using "smart passes" to go to the restroom, etc but I have to remind them when they show up at my door, that they need to go back for a "clinic pass". They were supposed to call before they send them but 1% has done that. Goodbye 20-21!
