I thought that I would start off by changing my diet. Limit pop intake, increase H2O intake, eat healthier foods. I have two small children and work nights. It's difficult to work out, but I think once I get my diet healthier, I will be more motivated to increase my exercising.
I usually tend to start off gung-ho (have no idea how to spell this ), and then stop all together. So, I'm going to start off slow and steady.

I do the same thing! My mom's big on walking, but I really want to focus on diet...oh well. I think once I get used to walking a half hour to an hour a day, it'll be easier to ease into a better food routine.
For a healthy approach to eating, I have found the Eat Clean books by
Tosca Reno very helpful. The recipes are easy and many are your favorite
foods. She has made them low fat, no sugar and is creative to keep
flavor in by using various spices/herbs...
Clean Eating magazine is another help and is published by the same
group. They also have examples of a few weeks of healthy recipes and
shopping list so you can plan ahead..
Of course, then came the HOlIDAYs , so I am going back to the above!

Im going to start using the gym, since I do have a gym membership.I work nights and have 3 kids so it is hard to go to the gym but Im going to try and make it a priority.Im going to try to go 2-3xs a week.Im also going to eat healthier and stop eating junk food...which I love. Im going to make it my new years resolution. I would like to loos 20lbs by May-which will be my 40th birthday.I may not beable to check in here everyday but can def do it weekly!!
I'm interested! What a great idea. The past 4 months, I've been applying to RN programs, taking 3 classes, working about 30-35 hrs per week. I stopped exercising altogether since the summer. I wasn't exercising much in the first place .. gain about 15 pounds since then! I feel kind of sad about it...
Anyways, I hate going outside in the winter! It unmotivates me to walk or do much.
I bought a set of DVDs from Beach Body called Brazil Butt Lift Workout ( I know! Silly name.) The program is about 6 weeks of working out with the DVDS. I'm starting my RN program next week, and our Winter Session (just 2.5 credit units) is also 7 weeks. I quit my job, so I have no excuse not to exercise. Now comes the challenge in trying to eat well, and not pig out after exercising. I would like to walk maybe 15-20 min each day in addition to the BBL. I listen to podcasts, and it gives me an excuse to relax and ignore chores for an hour. I'll let you guys know how it goes!

New Year, new opportunities...
What is your New Year fitness plan?
I am designing a home program using a Fluidity Barre, pilates circle, and
weights. I am planning to use Bar Method and Fluidity dvds, Classical stretch/Essentrics dvds
and Gilads Express and some of his other w/o dvds for cardio.
Is anyone interested in a check in thread to post our daily workouts and keep us on track?
