i didn't find nursing school to be all that difficult, just intense. you have so much information thrown at you all at once. lots of reading, assignments, group projects, individual projects, papers to write (in the dreaded apa format), tests, clinicals, studying, skills testing, etc. as long as you stay on top of things, you should be ok. in my opinion, the best thing that helped me get through nursing school, was to find a good study group, but do study! like i said, it is a lot of information, but it can be done. good luck!
I agree with nightwolf. It's not really all that hard it just requires you to pay alot of attention. Your life outside of school is basically over for that 12months, or however long your program is. In the end, it is worth it, but it sucks in the meantime. The first quarter for us was the worst. Once we were past that they slacked off a little, not much though.
Hey, I have heard alot about the difficulty of nursing school from alot of women but i have never heard it from a man. Do you guys think that nursing school was hard or easy or medium? Give details on what you thought was easiest and what you thought was hardest. I think getting good input from both sides of the spectrum would be beneficial. Thank you very much!
I guess you could say "medium" as my experience with nursing school. The hardest part in nursing school isn't really the material, it is all the sacrifices that come with successful completion of nursing school. It's almost like turning into a butterfly.. nursing school completely changes who you are.
One thing I decided to do was put my social life on hold while I finish my education. There's plenty of time for fun and games! And boy, it's going to be nice when I'm 30 and playing golf during my four days off! ;-)
