  1. Nursing school was a challenge but not anymore so than anything else that requires effort. The hardest part for me was to focus on school and not be distracted. I am currently in a Master program and it is hard giving up a large part of my social life.
  2. I graduated with a BSN at the age of 37. I now in a NP program at age 45. You are going to be 30 whether you go to nursing school or not. As others here have said, I had 3 people from their early fifties to late fifties in my BSN class. I would encourage you to go!!!! Good Luck!
  3. I can say my application was pretty straight forward. My resume, an essay, previous transcripts and 2 letters of recommendation. I was told that I may have an interview but I did not even need to do that. I would think experience goes a long way. The content of the recommendations ( i.e specifics) of why you would be great applicant etc... Any specific qualifications you hold. Outside activities that you use your skills for, (ex:Red Cross activities, ACLS instructor) What makes you stand out from other applicants?
  4. I can tell that I just got accepted to University of MD for grad school and they did not require the GRE. I spoke with John Hopkins Hospital and Catholic University which also do not require a GRE. You can take it but not required for your MSN or NP. A GRE is required for a doctorate degree though. Hope this helps...
  5. Bikerdude, Are you a new student or a grad student? If you work at a hospital, employee health should be able to help with the paperwork and the tb tests. I had one of the md's I work with sign off my paperwork. Hope this helps...
