Yes it is intro to bio or Bio 110. It is a pre-req before I can get into A&P and other sciences. I am struggling but I guess I just have to keep on truckin!! Thanks again

Thanks for your advice. It really feels as if she is weeding people out and that is really sad. I don't know what is going to happen but if I don't pass this class I could lose my pell-grant and be on academic probation If by midterm I am still struggling I will probably drop the class and take it again with a different instructor......I guess. Thanks again.

I have about half of my pre-reqs done and I am taking my time with the sciences because I really want to get good grades. I also have a child and work full-time so I am pacing myself. I am currently taking Biology 110 and I am having a hard time. I study for texts and quizzes but I am not getting the grades I thought I would. I go into it thinking I know what is going to be on the tests but then I get the test and my professor makes the questions all twisted and tricky . It is really frustrating and I am starting to lose confidence because if I can't get through basic biology how will I survive A & P, Microbio, or Path????? I have not missed a single class and I am an actively participating student Does anyone have advice on how to study or has anyone ever dropped a class to have a different professor?? I went to ratemyprofessor.com and almost all the student comments about this professor sound the same. Help???

No problem. For starters I would contact admissions to see what classes you could take ahead of time. Check out www.Chamberlain.edu The one thing I could see being a problem is getting all of those pre-reqs in before the start date. Also, the spring session at ECC already started so you would have to wait until the summer and fall sessions. I checked the website and it doesn't look like they have an LPN program Depending how many classes you take each semester will determine how long it takes you to finish you pre-reqs. For some people it takes two or three years especially if they have other obligations like work or families or both! How did you do in high school? Did you take you ACTs? It's took me a while to get classes out of the way as I work full-time and have a child :heartbeat. There is an entrance exam you have to pass before being accepted to Chamberlain. Hi I am in the enrollment process at Chamberlain for the July start. I do have some of the pre-reqs already done from my associates degree (not the sciences). They have ASN, BSN, and RN to BSN bridge programs. I also live out your way and Addison really is not that bad of a drive. I have chosen the 3 year BSN program. If you have no pre-reqs I would reccommend taking some (psyc, sociology, speech, english) before hand. For example, at ECC, since you are in district, it will cost you $91 per credit hour. At Chamberlain it will cost you $546 per credit hour!! Even though it'll take a little longer, in the long run you'll save thousands and probably be a little better prepared since you have not attended college. The deadline for July is March 15th. Right I understand MOST programs work that way. However, this particular school is a school focused just on nursing so they allow students to incorporate general classes in with the program. They check a students GPA from high school or previous college as well as their ACT scores. There is an aptitude test that you must score well on to get accepted into the program. It is a fully accredited school and program with great reviews from many previous and current students. I agree it is very competitive to get in but not ALL schools do their entrances the same. Hi I just wanted to ask you if you took all the pre-req courses before you began the BSn or if you did it with the nursing classes. I ask because I am undecided if I should stay at a community college and finish as many as possible (it'll take me forever) or if I should just go for it and start at Chamberlain with only some pre-reqs done. wow thank you. i definitely take this all into consideration. i really would just like to begin the program because i am so excited!!!!! of course i have that little voice in my head telling everything you all said lol. when i look at the first year it does not seem all that bad? I am undesided if I should spend the next two years taking pre-req courses at a local community college (A &P, Micro, Path etc) I have some out of the way but I really just want to get started in the program. The school I plan on attending has a really nice program where I can take pre-reqs in with core classes. I know I would save money but it'll take me ANOTHER 2-3 years in addition to the 3 years the BSN alone will take me to finish. Is anyone in the same situation?

Wow thank you. I am in the same boat when it comes to gpa. I was actually was considering taking my pre-reqs at ECC just to save some money and improve my overall GPA!! I also bombed my high school ACTS from 10 years ago . My appointment is Thursday at 11:30 am with Josh in admissions. I'll keep you posted on if I get accepted! I was wondering if anyone has information about this school? I spoke with admissions and they do not have a waiting list so all I would have to do is pass an exam and I can start in July. The school is in Addison which would be perfect for me However, I know it is a new campus so I am a little speculative about how easy it is to get in. There are no pre-reqs except you have to have held a GPA of at least 2.75 or higher in all previous college. Does anyone have any advice or info about his school? Any personal experiences? Nicely done !! Did you get your BSN? I am planning on transfering to a 4 year. I am now remembering how tough the sciences are. I just need to stay positive and push through. I am only able to go part time for my pre-reqs because I also work full-time, have a child, a fiance and a household to run . It is difficult to find study time. Keep me posted on how your first job goes. I'd love to hear all about it. Take care
