What MAR system does your hospital use?

Hey all, just wondering what MAR system your hospital uses?

When I was in Austin, everything was electronic and you just scan the armband and the med. I heard many hospitals are going to be using Epic systems soon. Right now our hospital is using Pyxis and it's a pain opening and closing those drawers for every single medicine! Please tell me not all the other hospitals are using Pyxis!

The hospital that i work at is using the Epic system. We use scanners in some situations but not when it comes to meds. The meds are listed under the patients file and all meds are locked in draweres dedicated to each patient. Over all the Epic system is working out okay but is somewhat new to our hospital.

Today I attended a presentation on EMedPass. It is a new system, designed primarily for Long Term Care. It was pretty basic, but apparently better than several others presented to the group this week. Anyone have any familiarity?

I posted my notes on the concept here:

Seems like a great idea (I'm a nursing home administrator) but some of the hang-ups/training issues/regulatory questions are still pretty large and waiting for an answer.

Nurses, what ARE you using, if not paper?

For medication dispense, we use the Pyxis. For a MAR, we still use paper. I have heard rumors that we will be using eMAR (in Meditech, which we are already using) within a couple of years.
