What do you love most about nursing?

Specifically neonatal nursing, but every specialty is welcome to answer!

I'm a post partum nurse. What I love most about my job is teaching new parents. I want them to be confident in taking care of themselves and their newborn.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

I enjoy the flexible scheduling (no five day work weeks unless I want overtime), steady pay, and the numerous opportunities for educational and career progression.

I started as an LVN with a 1-year vocational diploma. Since that time I've earned an ASN degree, a BSN degree, specialty certification, and have applied to a couple of graduate degree programs this month.

Specializes in Family Medicine.

I love not having to work fives days a week.

Specializes in NICU, telemetry.

I work in the NICU and love the critical care aspect of the job. The Stepdown babies are fun too, but that's not what I came here intentionally for. I love the challenge and puzzle it presents, and in the meantime, I get to help a family take home their baby(hopefully) in the end.
