A couple of things-
First, change your avatar to something more anonymous. There are a ton of reasons to protect your identity on a public forum, especially once you're a nurse.
Next, a nurse needs to be able to think on her feet. Pay attention in school, and learn to think as a nurse. You need to be able to think critically and to think fast. There are few nursing positions where this isn't required, and I can't think of a single one.
What made you choose nursing? What did you envision?
Be cognizant that, since Galen's program is non-accredited, earning that master's degree or PhD might take a bit longer than you might have envisioned. Transferability of credits is often a stumbling block when one's initial nursing education was received at a school that lacked national nursing accreditation.-I want to get my Master or PhD in whatever I do
Hey
I'm very picky too so I've been looking at different specialties and what they entail.
I actually took this quiz, and I really liked my results, try it out :)

There a bunch of different specialties for nursing. Since your just a student, don't count out the hospital just yet, you never know what you might find interesting, so I'm trying to be openminded also
Here's a nice list of the different kind of specialities if you want to look at it more...

Good luck!
Not much call for that as a nurse.I have always imagined working in a doctor's office with kids.
You say you don't want to work in a hospital or anywhere really depressing... what kinds of places are those?
Honestly, I don't see your bullet list as a match for much in nursing with the possible exception of camp nursing... which is pretty tough at which to make a good year-round living...

Hi everyone,
I'm currently enrolled in a 2 year RN program at Galen in St. Pete and basically I just wanted to hear some advice or feedback on what kind of Nurse I should become. Just so that I don't waste time doing the wrong thing.
Some info on me to help out..
-I am 20 years old
-I love kids
-I love teaching people how to do stuff
-I am a great leader and the best advisor
-I'm clumsy and an airhead at times so thinking on my feet isn't always there
-I don't want to working in the hospital or anywhere really depressing
-I want to get my Master or PhD in whatever I do
