What Kind of Nurse Do You Want To Be?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Alright so I'm in my first year of college and I love talking about future plans with my fellow students and hearing what they want to be and why :)

So what kind of nurse do you want to be?

Id love to work in the ER! Well, at least I think I would. I certainly will not set my mind on just one nursing path though. I ultimately want to be a good nurse... I have had a handful of people tell me that personality wise, Id be a great nurse...very caring, a good listener, and very "motherly." I have never admitted this out loud, but being told that is the biggest compliment and a huge self esteem boost. :)

I'm a senior in high school right now. I'm applying to 4 year BSN programs. Actually, I already applied to 7. For specialty, at this point I want to be either a trauma nurse working in a major trauma center or an L&D nurse.

Keep an open mind about your preferred specialty at least until you're through nursing school. You may find that you HATE trauma and anything to do with babies but LOVE oncology or geriatrics. In fact, exposure to clinicals has changed the preferences of most nurses I know!

Operating Room nurse.. I was a surgery tech b4, so I already have the background... that's what I wanna do now.... but that all may change once I start school
