Well, for one thing.....Allnurses! Seriously though, coming on here and talking to other students with the same issues, questions, and worries as myself has definitely kept me motivated. Also, knowing that even though this is hard, I'll be in the carreer I really want to be in. Oh, and I know it's crazy but, all those medical shows on TV. Not just the discovery channel, I'm talking "House", "ER", Grey's Anatomy, I get so excited when I watch. I keep thinking one day that will be me!

I've already given up once, I'm not about to do it again!
It is hard, and I'm sure nursing school will even be harder! However, even if I don't look at the goal of becoming a nurse, proving to myself that I AM smart enough to do it is keeping me motivated! It's a challenge!
For example, 13 years ago I did poorly on A&P 1. Spring '05 I took it over, & finished with with 101%! I have challenged myself by making A's in all the rest of my classes since then, and they were all fast-track or summer courses!
I'm taking chemistry now, for my future RN-BSN program, so that is keeping me motivated as well. (I have to achieve that RN status before I can do the RN-BSN program!!!) I don't know what I'll make in my chemistry, but I do know that I am doing MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better than I did in my high school chemistry class during my Jr. year (89-90).
For yourself, you REALLY need to think about this. IS THIS WHAT YOU REALLY WANT? and HOW STRONGLY DO YOU WANT IT?
If you have had Intro to Psychology you may already know this, depending on your class:
Make short-term goals.....your classes. Pass those.
Always look to your long-term goal....becoming a NURSE!!!!
Good luck!!!!

Knowing that this is what I really want to do and along with my kids and husband is what keeps me motivated. Good luck!!

When I was in school, the one thing (besides, my family) that kept me going strong was, whenever I saw poor nursing care, I thought to myself, one day I will make the patients days better, I will make them feel cared about, and I will hold their hand. I will make decisions on their care, within my scope, that will be the best for the patient, and I will advocate for my patient.
I can say, now that I'm a graduate (and an RN) that I hold all of my wants from school in high esteem. I keep them close at heart and live them out as best as I can every day.
