Hi all! I will be taking the NCLEX-RN in two weeks! I just started the Kaplan trainer and didn't do too good. I've only taken the first 2 tests and scored a 61% and 60%. I'm not feeling too good about my scores.
If you used or are using the Kaplan trainer, could you please post your results and say if you passed the NCLEX? I need a point of reference to know if I will actually be ready to take the NCLEX in two weeks.
Thanks all!

I took the Kaplan review course to study for the nclex and i did horrible on the question trainers! I only completed the first 3 question trainers because my scores were 50, 55, 39. So i went onto studying the q bank questions. I selected one sub category at a time to focus on (managed care, pharm, risk and reduction, ect) and did 50 questions and then i took a few tests from the q bank that included all of the topics and read through the book briefly. I took my nclex on monday and just found out that i passed ... so your kaplan scores does not mean your not ready to take the test! Just make sure you understand what areas you are weak in and continue practicing them in the q bank!
Thanks so much for your input ash0308 and CONGRATULATIONS!!! You must feel so rewarded!
Anyone else not do too good on the Kaplan trainers and still pass the NCLEX?

59-68 mostly the lower- trainers are great but q bank helped the most, maybe because it had more questions and you could put it in tutor mode and see the rationales right then. -- while you were thinking about the question.
:thankya:Thank you all for your input. I feel less hopeless now. :) I will continue to practice questions. I just didn't know if I should first review some more before practicing more KAPLAN questions, but come to think of it...I think I remember the info. more if I MISS a question on it.

What I focused on with the QT's was the application and analysis questions as these questions are at the passing level for NCLEX, so here are my scores with the break down. If you have the whole online program, I recommend watching the videos, they are very helpful! Also, to figure out your own break down, click 'analyze this test' and scroll to the very bottom section.
QT 1: 64%
3/5 APPLICATION CORRECT (60%)
QT 2: 75%
5/8 APPLICATION CORRECT (62%) 1/1 ANALYSIS CORRECT (100%)
QT 3: 61%
22/38 APPLICATION CORRECT (58%) 9/13 ANALYSIS CORRECT (69%)
QT 4: 63%
68/107 APPLICATION CORRECT (64%) 3/9 ANALYSIS CORRECT (33%)
QT 5: 62%
68/111 APPLICATION CORRECT (61%) 10/19 ANALYSIS CORRECT (53%)
QT 6: 74%
98/133 APPLICATION CORRECT (74%) 50/67 ANALYSIS CORRECT (75%)
QT 7: 66%
94/134 APPLICATION CORRECT (70%) 80/131 ANALYSIS CORRECT (61%)
I got my Quick Results today and I 'unofficially' have passed. I had 75 questions and it took me about an hour and a half. Hope this helps, and good luck studying!
