Ok, so fortunately for me I have been getting job offeres up the yin yang.. Problem is not really in a specialty unit where I want but in thinsg I have experience in. I have one job and currenlty love but we keep getting cancelled on our extra shifts so I can't make extra money. I signed up for a registry and am always getting cancelled there too. I opted to get a second part time/full time job to pay for bills. I currently work a trauma surgical unit 3 days a week on day shift. I got an offer at a hospital (med/surg/tele) close to home, night shift, more hourly and a 7000 sign on bonus. I can't sleep during the day and nights are hard on my personal life. I got another offer on a surgical unit close to home on day shift, Pay is the same as where I currently work. What should I take? Go for the money or go for the better shift? PLEASE HELP any advice?

You want to make money to pay off bills but by making this extra money it would be hard on your personal life and change your sleep pattern. Sometimes we have to sacrafice to get what we want. If you are willing to make some changes in your life, I would say go for it. You dont have to work shift forever. You can just work until you pay your extra bills off or til whenever.
Is this personal life of yours beneficial, supportive, and willing to adjust to these changes? Can this personal life willing to help with the bills you would like to pay off? The reason why I am asking these questions because you have to what is better for you at this moment in time.
For your sleep pattern during the day you can change your curtains to dark, use eye covers, and/or exercise prior to going to sleep. Im sure there are some other things out there to help you to sleep.
Sometime changes can help you figure out somethings you didnt know. It may show some true colors. Good luck and keep us posted.

If I understand your post correctly the job you take will be in addition to your current one. If that's correct I'd definitely take the day shift position. Switching from days to nights all the time would be too rough and would burn you out fast.

It would take a LOT of money for me to accept a night shift job if I had a hard time sleeping during the day.
How much more is the hourly for the night shift job?

regular time is 32/hr.. night shift differential is 4 dollars more. the other day shift job is 29.50/hr no differential. Either way I am staying at my current job I just need a stable 2nd job becasue I get no shifts from registry and can't work OT at my current job. I can't decide and don't know what would be better, I have done night shift beofre here and there but is WAS HARD! and if I am planning to work 5 days a week i think day shift would be easier but not sure. It is only temporary anyway
