U.S.A. New Jersey

Published

Hi,

I am looking for a RN position in NJ and have found a position on ICP unit at Lourdes medical center.

Does anybody know ICP unit? I haven't heard about it before.

Also, how about the job market in NJ now? I have 3 years exp in med/surg and need to relocate to NJ.

Thank you for any comment!!

I don't know what ICP at Lourdes stands for... The job market in NJ is extremely tough right now....maybe since you have experience it will be easier, I just know from personal experience that it's not so easy to find something quickly...unless you get very lucky or know someone that can help you out.

Thank you dragon2623. It is still tough.. hmmm

I'm in another state cuz I couldn't get; a job in NJ after i graduated. sad..

I hope I can get a position this time. :)

Specializes in ER/ICU/STICU.

I forget what the letters stand for, but it is a telemetry unit and a very busy one at that. From personal experience, you can have anywhere from 5-7 patients during the day and 6-7 at night. The unit isn't too bad at night, but can be total chaos during the day with multiple admissions.

Thank you ckh23 for sharing ur info.

Wow... upto 7 pts on tele? Is it normal in NJ? A Tele nurse can have upto 4 pts at my current hospital.

Not normal for NJ but typical for that hospital. The only time you would have 4 pts is if census was really low. They also have a fairly high turnover rate throughout the hospital.
