What was your HARDEST class?

Nurses General Nursing

I've been hearing alot about A&P, Micro, and Pharmacology. So, what would you say was your toughest course, and did any of you get a tutor?

:p pharmacology and then psych. now i'm excellent with both, though.

Anatomy was AWFUL. So much material, such minute details that I will never use as a nurse, such difficult tests............We lost 2/3 of the class. The average score on the midterm was a 63 (and that was after half the class had already dropped out).

I loved Nutrition and Psychology. Attempted chemistry years ago and dropped it, but at that time, I hadn't taken algebra. Turns out you need good math skills to do well in Chem.

I am so glad to be out of school for the summer !!!

med surg II so far has been the worst for me; squeaked by with a B-

about 1/3 to 1/2 of the class also seemed to think that class was really onery. I guess I did poorly in it because the subject matter was overall rather disgusting to me: micturation, defecation, enemas, emesis, etc....

Gerontology gave some of my classmates a tough time; two of them (that I know of) dropped the class. It seemed fairly straightforward to me -- overall it's just a time of decline in function... I guess it's hard to predict what will be easy or difficult for someone.

And of course, we do have a couple of students who just get A's on everything and have time to go to the beach every week.

I enjoyed Pharmacology and Pathophysiology. I also enjoyed nearly all my prerequisites except Nutrition -- again, I think the subject matter just turned me off...

Oh My gosh! You don't like the products of the gi system? That's what nursing is all about!!:clown: What field do you want to go into?

All the classes are hard on some level. Some are physically hard to get through with all the memorizing (A&P) and some are emotionally hard (clinicals!!). chemistry was really fun for me, but really hard, especially when we had to figure out how many moles of aluminum were in a hunk of rock that contained 35% of it. Too many zero's in those calculations!

My worst class was only the worst because of the way the teacher taught it---Lifespan Development. She was a great teacher but had everybody working in groups, we even took tests in groups. Since it was a fairly entry level psych class, there were a lot of people in there who weren't taking it seriously. We had to work with these folks and they managed to bring everybody's grades down. The teacher's reason for teaching this way was to teach us all a life lesson on how to work with people who were difficult and how to work productively with people we're thrown together with. Boy, was that hard and totally frustrating, but I did learn a lot about working with people.
