Hello. I have a GPA of 3.75 and I'm taking my Pre-Entrance Exam for Nursing in a month. I'm applying for Spring Admissions. I just want to know my chances of getting in. The school I'm applying to screens on these areas:
50% - Pre-Entrance Exam Score
25% - Chemistry Grade
25% - GPA
I'm taking Chemistry in the summer so I'm not sure what my grade will be yet. But most likely an A or maybe even a B I'm studying for my Pre-Entrance Exam and am very nervous. Only 40 people are admitted during Spring Admissions.
What was your GPA and Pre-Entrance Exam score and did you get accepted? Do you think I have a good chance?
Thanks in advance!

My GPA was 3.40, Pre-entrance exam score was 97%, I took a test out option for chemistry, it required a grade of 80% or better to have your chemistry class waved as a prereq (they didn't tell me my grade, just that i acheived a passing grade). There was about 100 applicants for 30 spots. My pre test score was a big help for me getting in, i was accepted 22 out of 30. I just graduated and finished third in the program with Nursing gpa of 3.92. First and second had GPAs of 4.0. I had a job three weeks before graduation, I know good grade's don't always make a good nurse, but they do help you get a job quickly. I take the NCLEX in three weeks. Good luck in your journey ahead, work hard, it's all worth it when your done.

You have an EXCELLENT chance of getting in. Your GPA is great. If you study the NET book, you should do just fine on the entrance exam.
The hardest part of nursing school is getting in. It depends upon how many students your school accepts and how many apply.
I scored 89 on entrance exam and got into the program of my choice.
Good luck!!!!!!

My program of choice uses only 2 criteria. The pre-req gpa (60%) and the TEAS (40%). Avg gpa accepted the last semester was 3.87 and the TEAS composite was 89%. My gpa is 3.93 and TEAS was 89%, so I'm hoping that will be good enough to get in for the fall. Won't know for at least another couple of weeks or so. Good luck getting into your program! Sounds like you are doing very well!

My program, 2.75GPA (mine was 2.99), math class completed and 12 hours of prereqs at least completed before application, I had all of mine done except English. An 80% or greater on 4 of 5 sections on the TEAS, I had that, and 120 out of 800 excepted the year I applied...I was one of them! Only school I applied to and first time I applied!

:nmbrn:MY GPA 3.8, FOR MY SCHOOL IT IS THE READING COMPASS, WHICH I SCORED A 92 AND THAT WAS DURING THE TIME WE ONLY NEEDED A 80, NOW IT'S 90 AND ABOVE. ALL A'S ON PRE-REQ'S & ALL A' AND B'S WITH MY GENERAL ED CLASSES. WHEN I APPLIED ALL MY CLASSES WERE COMPLETED. THAT HELPS TOO TO HAVE ALL CLASSED COMPLETED. I GOT ACCCEPTED TO 3 SCHOOLS WHICH I APPLIED TO. AND YES U HAVE A GOOD CHANCE OF GETTING ACCEPTED. "GOOD LUCK GIRLY"

No entrance exam at my school. My GPA was 4.0 school wanted at least 3.25 for consideration but on average did not take less that 3.65.
