I would have to say that there is no specific book you should read up on before starting nursing school. For me I just needed to study math and english, different programs, different requirements. If you are going to a LVN program the NCLEX PN REVIEW by Judith C Miller 2nd Edition is a great book. It has outlines in each sections followed by State Boards Sample Questions.

Having recently just started nursing school about a year ago, I wish I would have brushed up on how to effectively do APA format because it's frequently used (I'm struggling with it right now). It may be useful for you to start reading some study books that pertain to the classes your taking in the fall!
Best of luck!

I'd say anatomy and physiology are the most important things to brush up on prior to school. They do not re-teach that in nursing school. You are expected to know it. Once you know how everything works, then you will know what to expect when it gets "broken".
