What are some of your favorite study tips for Biology? I'm trying to find the best way to study for ME, and I like the insight. My major was Journalism/PR before, and I literally never had to open a book to get an A, so now I'm relearning how to study and make it stick. I'm good at application, but not great at memorizing. Any tips?
Note: I go to UNLV for Pre-nursing

Good day, aleafstedt:
1. Learn to open a book and read it ;-) Use the SQR4 study method - SQ4R Study Method
2. Make your own flashcards; I use and recommend quizlet.com Then after making them, quiz yourself with them.
3. Ask if you can record lectures and lab recitations; if able, record and then put into playlists based on exam units. Then listen as often as possible -- on the road, on a bus, taking a walk.
4. For any class with a lab, stay the entire lab time.
5. Participate in class often. It's a great way to get rid of wrong thinking quick and reinforce good thinking fast.

Khan Academy.com has tons of teaching videos. Which explains things in depth. Then I used quizlet and flash cards to learn the vocab that I learned from the videos, books and lectures. Reading the chapter before lecture helped a ton. I had a basic understanding and could focus on the points the Professor was making.
