What was your favorite graduation gift?

Hi all. I'm a first semester ASN nursing student, however a friend of mine is graduating next week and I'm trying to figure out what to get her. I know she needs scrubs and I am going to get her a gift certificate to a uniform store, but I want a little something more for her. Any ideas???

I think a good work bag or a uniform store gift cert are both great ideas. I just got money and spoiled myself! :)

How about a very nice frame for her diploma? Or a beautiful nursing related knick-knack or piece of jewelry? i rec'd all of these from various family members, and value the thought behind each one. Or how about videotaping her pinning and/or graduation ceremony for her?

I just graduated this month and my favorite gift was a watch (my husband got me) it says LPN on the face of it and it has military time on it also.

I was given a glass nursing hat with a poem from my girls, a nursing statue from my husband with a hand written note telling me how proud he was of me.

My most treasured gift was a hand written note from my mother with a lady bug pin pinned to it. Someone once told her that to have a lady bug in your house or on your person will bring you good luck, prosperity, and positive thoughts.

My father died when i was quite young. My mother worked very hard to teach me the value that if you want something bad enough, you have to work for it and when you achieve it be proud of yourself for it. (Happy Birthday, Mom :biggringi )

A friend gave me a little Vera Bradley bag that I absolutely loved - the Hope Toille pattern. So, I decided to check out what else Vera Bradley has to offer - ended getting myself (it's ok to buy yourself gifts, especially after working so hard...right???) a big bag, wallet and watch in the same pattern. I love them all. The big bag has pockets inside so I can designate a couple for work things...which will make getting ready for work easier...what ever I end up putting inside them will always be there.

thats what I was wondering..................what (if anything) did you splurge on with your first paycheck? I know as a student and life runner (LOL) I have scraped the bottom of the barrel for a long long time. anyone?
