What you didn't expect about Nursing School.....

Published

Thought it would be fun to start a thread on what surprised you the most about nursing school - I will start (I am in my first 6 weeks of the program)....

My class has 42 students and we are all becoming friends and acting as a community. Gone are the days of competition; we are all in this together and everyone is happy to help one another!

I didnt expect to start clinical knowing so little. I didnt expect the first 2 lecture exams to be so easy. I didnt expect the Lab to be so stressful.

I just finished my first term and I would have to say there were a lot of surprises for me. I didn't expect to the exams to be so difficult and I never imagined how many projects and papers would be required. I never expected to be feel like I was in kindagarten again either. Not that it's been bad just one foul teacher the rest have been great :)

What school are you guys attending?

I didn't expect such a hard impact on my family :(. I have about 2.5 quarters left...we [my family and I] can do this.

Sirena, I go to OCC LPN program.

O ok, well good luck and keep us posted!

I never thought that there would be so many papers and presentations all in the first quarter! I also didn't expect memorizing some the terms and such to be as difficult as it has proved to be for me. (I will panic and sort of go blank when testing. I'm working on that!!)

MsAshley, wow, we have only had to write one paper and no presentations. Are you doing clinical yet?
