Dec 18, 201510 yr Has anyone completed this program or currently enrolled? I'm applying for part time option fall 2016. What is your schedule like?
Dec 19, 201510 yr I'll be attending UTHSC but I start in Spring 2016 and I'm in the FNP track. The ACNP degree plan is available on their website: https://nursing.uth.edu/prospstudent/msn-postmasters/acute/default.htm so that will kind of give an idea. UTHSC's program is blended (online & on-campus). I'm taking Advanced Patho this semester along with Statistics and they are both online classes. Once I get my course syllabi and start I can come back and update you with more information :) And a word of advice: make sure you fully read their immunization requirements as well as all of their additional requirements if you get accepted into the program. I've had to jump through a lot of hoops just to be able to register for classes. I accepted my offer on 11/28 and I'm still waiting to be able to register. If you're behind on something I suggest you take care of it now. You'll also need a Hep C titer drawn which the student health clinic does but if you want to have it done elsewhere you might want to look into that.
Dec 20, 201510 yr Author Thanks for your reply! Yes I know I need a hep B booster and a varicella booster. Hep c titer? Thats an unusual one I mean I don't think my job draws that. I could always ask. Are you working now?

Are you working now?My job doesn't unless you've been exposed with a needle stick/etc. I am currently working full-time and I will be going to school part time.
Dec 24, 201510 yr I applied for the summer 2016 FNP program at UTHSC. Hoping to get in. Turnforthenurse, maybe we will meet up at some point because I've already completed the advanced patho, pharm, and assessment courses at UTMB
Dec 29, 201510 yr I applied for the summer 2016 FNP program at UTHSC. Hoping to get in. Turnforthenurse, maybe we will meet up at some point because I've already completed the advanced patho, pharm, and assessment courses at UTMBSend me a PM! If you can give me some tips that would be great! I know the schools are all affiliated but the actual programs may differ. I was looking at my stats syllabus on Canvas and it doesn't seem like it will be too difficult. My adv patho syllabus isn't available for viewing yet. UTMB was actually my first choice school but their application period doesn't end until Feb 1 and I already heard back from UTHealth. UTHealth also has an emergency/trauma concentration that I'm very interested in and UTMB doesn't offer it. Even though I'm starting school earlier than I anticipated I think I made the right choice :) Just out curiosity though, what is making you switch from UTMB to UTHealth?
Dec 29, 201510 yr I obtained a Masters in nurse education from UTMB so I applied for the post masters program at UTHSC. UTMB does not offer a post masters program in FNP
Dec 29, 201510 yr I obtained a Masters in nurse education from UTMB so I applied for the post masters program at UTHSC. UTMB does not offer a post masters program in FNPOh okay, I didn't know that! That makes sense.
Dec 30, 201510 yr Are you allowed to do weekend clinicals? Not sure! I don't start clinicals until next spring...I think on the FNP page (under FAQs) they said clinicals are typically Monday through Friday. Since you are doing ACNP it might be a little different since you will primarily be in the hospital setting.
Dec 30, 201510 yr Clinicals for ACNP can be done on weekends because your clinical site is primarily hospitals. For FNP it's Monday -Friday because clinical sites are clinics and generally clinics are not open on weekends
