So, most of us are trying to lose weight...dieting..counting each and every calorie ...carb...protein...sugar...etc..
But what are you doing to drop pounds? What's your exercise routine?
Mine is a motley crew of playing iwth the kids, exercising with Dora, a pilates tape, walking, biking, running in place...I even saw a book at the mall for exercising in BETWEEN commercials!
So..what's your method because you don't lose weight until you burn more calories than you take in.....
OH and discovery health is having a national body challenge..if you go to there website and register they will personalize a diet and exercise plan for you....they kicked me off but honestly with 3 kids and a husband following the diet is not really happening....

whew...you do a lot...okay here's mine
6 days a week sun-friday, 30-45mins brisk walking (2-3 miles)
3-4 days a week i either go to the gym to use weights or i use dumbells at home.
saturdays i have a fitness walking class that kicks my butt! its almost 1.5 hours of differnet intervals of walking...ie...15 reg pace, 15 minutes brisk, 5 minutes power walking (almost jogging), then 15 brisk, then 15 reg, 15 brisk pace, 10 reg pace, 5 cool down slow (then stretch) in that amount of time i usually do 4-5 miles
plus running laundry up and down the stairs to the laundry room =)
what i've noticed is that most of my friends that are thin/in shape don't kill themselves working out...all they do is walk (not run or jog) and do some light weight resistance (dumbells)...i've noticed a BIG change in less than two weeks doing this...and it doesn't wear me out! one of my friends lost over 90lbs in a year JUST walking! she used to be soooo overweight and she looks GREAT now!

My goal is to get to the gym 3 times a week - I try to take one aerobics class a week and the other times I'm on the treadmill or the elliptical trainer for 45min - 1 hr.
I'm trying to get myself into doing weight training, but I get bored easily.
I start school next week and I've already scheduled my workout times so that I can keep up my 3x week (I hope!).

Running 4 days a week 3 miles (when it's warm outside).
Yoga and Pilates 5 days a week.
I'll join the gym when i'm out of school.

I really enjoy doing active things but I notice that if I get too busy and stop for a week or month that it is so hard to get started. In the summers, I try to run 3 or so miles or go hiking...I am a weenie when it comes to cold weather. I don't really enjoy weights but I love what they do to my body so I have to take classes at the gym because I just can't do it on my own. I take weight classes, step/weight combos, yoga, spinning, whatever. Plus these classes are one hour- so I know that I get a good long workout (as opposed to me going on my own and feeling tired at 15 minutes and opting to go home :) that also includes a good stretch at the end!

I agree with tasha about the walking. When i was pregnant I gained 50lbs. Lost all of it by walking. I do the videos called "walk away the pounds", which are great! I LOVE them! I also go to the gym for more walking and small weights.

Ideally it's four days of aeorbics, two or three days of weight training, and two days of yoga class.
This is the idea, sometimes laziness, life, and overtime at work interferes. It's what I aspire to on a weekly basis. One of those aeorbics is an after work on, I tend to cancel that one as my shift tends to stretch beyond the 12 hour mark, and I poop out.
Good job poeple.
