So I had to share this with the people on this site as you guys are the ones who will appreciate & understand why I am so excited.. In Sept I am starting my last year of NS and I had my 1st med/surg experience today on the way in to work. I saw and was the 1st to the scene of a car accident. I made sure everyone was ok, assessed them, call 911, and kept them both talking while waiting for the police. Not trying to toot my own horn as I know it was too involved but I was just surprised that I didn;t even get freaked out by the situation or the possibility of blood ect. I def don't need coffe now! :)

mel2009 36 Posts Aug 13, 2008 thanks for everyone's kind words. It is great to be able to share a happy / exciting moment in my NS career. and how wonderful it was to have all the things I have learned so far take over and it was almost instinctual. i can't wait for my base of knowledge to expand so I can be ready for anything that the "real world" outside of school and work! this totally helped with the stress that has begun since the semster is fast approaching. Now is will be turned into eustress.. (and to think last year at this time I didn't really know that term) I want to put this Q out there: what are other people's moements that have made NS seem worth all the hard work and / or where you used your skills and knowledge?
