What to do with this empty bank account?

Published

I don't know what to do. I have hit a brick wall. There aren't many scholarships available that I could use for Spring 2010. I don't qualify for any loans since I go to a community college that won't accept private loans apparently but the tuition in $1631 for next semester and I just don't know what to do. Any advice as to what I can do? I need like a part time job or something but with the economy being so bad, I am just at wits end here. These are my last 5 pre nursing classes and my current job is barely paying the bills. Any suggestions?

There are tons of places to look for cheap books. I always start with finderscheapers.com And... I actually bought a book from the bookstore this term! Why? They offered a guaranteed buyback! I bought it used for about 80, the buyback was 55 (same price new or used, go figure)... so it will only cost me 25 to use it this term. Cheaper than renting and I don't have to worry about selling it after. I worked the numbers (I ALWAYS work the numbers!!) and it was the best option for me.

thenameismac - what about considering moving to an area with a lower cost of living? You might even get into a cheaper/better program if you do. I know you would have to find another job, but if you went to an accredited school...loans might be open to you then.

Good luck... I feel your pain

I only buy books from the bookstore I really have money to spend like that and know I will have some left over or of course I can't it anywhere else (which is very rare). However finderscheapers sounds awesome. I've never heard of it but will surely bookmark it and I've heard of cheggs.com. I totally forgot about it. Thank you zeppzepp2009. That was very very helpful.

Thanks you guys. You guys are just so full of so much information. :)

Why are you buying books from the bookstore if you are hurting for money. Its alot cheaper to buy them from other students and its totally free to look at them at the trio centers of all colleges (I am attending a maryland CC and thats how I do it, although I can afford books and rather not buy them). Also you live in baltimore why do you need a car? I take the bus and am 300 a month richer for it....

My last post was a little harsh. I ment to say that if money is tight you really need to see what you need and what you would like to have.
