What Does Your Agency Do Differently to Keep You With Them??

Hello my fellow Agency Nurses! ;) I want to see what type of things your agency does to try and keep you. I know we are known for bouncing from one agency to the next, but what is it that your current agenecy does or doesn't do that is either keeping you motivated and wanting to work:lol2: , or making you want to leave find a new one.:nono: I want to see how my agency compares to the rest. :p

My NYC agency sends out b-days card to all of their nurses, and even has a "Nurse of the Month" award for each RN, LPN, and CNA. Is this normal??

Thanks for your input!

Aizling allows me to do everything online. I dictate my own pay rate, and I often get shifts for a higher pay rate than the one I requested. Also, I get to completely manage my shedule online, no more calling up the local office to see if I get shifts, I do it online whenever I want.

That's awesome! I wish my agency was that advanced. However, I love my recruiter, so maybe the human contact is good. I guess there are positives and negatives to each agency.

I haven't seen a lot of response to this post so I am wondering what you guys would like for your agency to do or not do to that would make a difference.

Specializes in E.D and Tele.

I work agency. I have two....it took some time though to find the "right" ones that would work for me. The one agency knows me and what days I like to work, shifts, knows my personality and what I find a pain in the caboose and what I don't mind doing. I feel that they go all out for me. I refer people to them but I am actually having trouble getting hours. They seem to stick you in one spot and keep you there even when you ask for a new site. So.......that I don't like....because it's like....."You're not listening to me....I want to go somewhere else people....." sorry..., just lost it there. I did ask for my ACLS and PALS to be paid for and they split it with me. They also pay be the very next day. That's pretty cool. Well there, there's getting the ball rolling with this thread.

Sorry I don't do spell-check off hours....just so ya know. Tally ho...Bindy:wink2:

My agency knows me by name right away when I call. The founder and president of the company is an RN and knows me by name. They treat their employees with respect, listen to our concerns, and are just about the nicest people I've ever met. They know my preferred facilities and do everything possible to make me happy! Also I dictate which days and shifts I'm available, and the calendar is online. They offer competitive pay with benefits, offer free CPR and ACLS is reasonable. They have a huge Christmas party every year. I feel much more loyal to my agency than I did for the hospital I used to work for.

NewYorkCityRN what agency is this I currently am looking for another agency to sign up with.

Specializes in pediatric and geriatric.

Where I work they do know me by name when I get into the office and I do get paid well and pick when and where I work and sometimes a gas card if I help them with a shift that really needs covered, BUT I pay for my CPR course, my PPD and they call 6 billion times a day even when told I am not aval. to work. Been there 4 years now and plan on staying. It just works for me with no holidays or weekend requirements and they are not anal about call offs.
