I have attended trade schools in two states. LVNs can teach medical assistant courses, CNA courses, and certain LVN courses. When I lived in California and was attending an LVN program, one of my clinical instructors was an LVN. I now live in Texas, and one of the prominent trade schools around here uses an LVN as a clinical instructor for the LVN program.
In Ohio LPNs can't teach jack. BSN's with 3 years experience can be clinical instructors or lab preceptors. MSN/DNP/PhD is required to teach lecture courses. Each and every nursing school in Ohio must have a PhD/DNP in charge of the program.
