as a nurse working for a staffing agency that is entering the travel business what is it that is most important to travel nurses

what do you want from your agency

we are small and very sincere, we fight the hospitals for good pay and always stand up for our nurses

we are available by phone 24/7

how do we get nurses to come travel for us?

You will either need to have a lot of jobs in every specialty or focus on one type of nurse or a smaller geographic area. Specialized nurses often choose agencies that they normally wouldn't just because it gets hard to find work with a smaller agency when you're specialized. If you are placing tele and med-surg only then it will be easier and you need to focus on service to the nurses because they get a lot more to choose from. Also I think they get enough abuse from their work and don't need any from the travel agency. Other than that nurses look for top dollar, private housing, and support (like paying the fees for all the certifications we have to maintain). To be outstanding offer things like extended housing between assignments, PTO, retirement and good health insurance which in unexpected and usually appreciated.

since i see "free housing" on all of the travel blogs, do they get a 1099 at the end of the year? are you then left paying taxes on that "free" housing?

40-45 dollars an hour plus free private housing sounds very good

do they pay the housing or reimburse you for it?

is it in the form of a 1099 or counted toward your wages?
