What are the chances of Alternate Students

Published

Hi,

I'm currently an alternate student at TCC in Tallahassee, fl and the wait is killing me because I don't know when and if I will get into this program. I need words of encouragement and more insight to the whole process of the likelyhood of and alternate student making it into the program of nursing.

Chelsea H. It is so hard to say. It really depends on how competitive your school is and how far up the alternate list you are. Anyways, good luck and I hope everything works out for you.

What is an alternate student? Is that the same as waitlisted? If so, I and several other students in our program got in off the waitlist. It really depends on how far dow you are. Can you find out from the program, at least approx?

@ na na thank you and I do really hope I get in as well. @ INN_777 Yes alternate is the same as waitlisted. Congrats I hope I will get in I was number 15 on the list, but within a few days I jumped to number 6 so I still have a long way to go before classes start, so wish me luck!

I was an alternate last year and didn't get in, don't know which number I was though. Finally got in this year and first semester is almost over. The problem with alternates is that it requires someone to not accept the seat they were offered or to drop out very early on for you to be accepted. If they drop out midway through the semester (which many do) you have already missed too much material. Good luck, hope you get good news.

Good luck, Chelsea!

Thank you @INN_777 and thank you @Lorirn2b for the info, good luck to you both in the program!
