What does CARNA Registration Status 'Preliminary Assessment - Cleared' mean ?

Hi All:

I am RN from United States and I recently applied for CARNA Assessment in Feb 2009. I checked my assessment status and they received all the 'required documents' in March 26, 2009 and forwarded my application for full assessment. Just today (May 05, 2009), when I checked my status I found that they updated cleared date on my Preliminary Assessment section. Does anyone has experience what this really means ? Did they approved my preliminary assessment ?

Thanks for your help and I look forward to hearing from you.

Saroj.

As you said you received a letter from CARNA, are you eligible to take the CRNE ? If you are eligible, have you already stated preparing for the exam ? I also did my nursing in USA and I have received a letter from CARNA indicating that I am eligible to take the exam. Maybe we can give each other ideas.

Thanks.

Have you folks been paying attention to what's happening in Alberta right now? ALL positions are only open to existing employees of Alberta Health Services. Dr Duckett has just announced an early retirement buy-out for out-of-scope (management/administration/education) and non-union personnel with discussion ongoing with the unions to find a package he can offer to RNs, LPNs, CNAs, RTs, pharmacists and so on. He has decided to close 150 acute care psychiatry beds and is cutting the health care budget by 3%.

I sincerely hope you're not putting all your eggs in one basket. You might get eligibility from CARNA to write the CRNE, but CARNA isn't going to be able to get you a job.

Hi! I found 2 additional requirements in my CARNA file (1.Review SEC Assestment and 2. SEC Assestment-obs-pedia etc.), does anyone know what it means? Does it mean that CARNA already determined that I need to take SEC Assestment?

That's what it means.

My cleared date was February 25, 2011. So probably around May I might receive a letter from CARNA? They say it usually take 2 to3 monthS?
