  1. Yes, you're right Fional, I didn't passed the SEC that's why. But it didn't made me lose hope! I'm still very positive and happy:) And I didn't try the Nova Scotia. I should have Ei! And, I`m with AHS for 3 years already, as NA though, if they liked you, they will keep you:)
  2. Of course nobody wants to lose their jobs, but if ever something like that happened to me, I'm not gonna be so negative about it, I will always keep my faith.. During my first few days here in Canada I was so afraid that I'm not gonna be able to survive, I came here alone, I don't know anybody here at that time, then I started looking for job, at first it was hard, most employers are looking for Canadian reference, but I didn't give up, after 1 month I got a job as nursing aide, so I figured out 'it wasn't that bad' . I've worked as such for 3 years until finally I was able to get a License as LPN, the unit manager I worked with is offering me an LPN position, but, I fell 'in love' with the unit where I did my practicum, probably because 80% of people working there are Filipinos, I was given a heads up by some of the staff I became friends with that they are going to hire more staff very soon because the Dialysis unit is going to expand their hours of operation ( will be 24 hours open starting August), and so I waited... and there it goes suddenly 5 new positions opened I applied and I got accepted. HOORRRAY!!! IT'S NOT THAT BAD BELIEVED ME! If you lose one, you can always find another one:) Cheer up!
  3. I'm not saying it's not happening Fiona, I'm just saying why can't you or Janfrn (I know everytime janfrn got a response like that, you would always back janfrn up, I've seen that in other threads, some kind of partnership huh!) at least be happy when somebody got good news to share, and not always try to discourage...cheer up!
  4. I'm wondering Janfrn why you're so bitter about somebody else's happiness, you must be having miserable life that you don't evwn see a bit of positive things around. I pity you. I just notice from ALL your responses, all you do is contradict everytime someone would guve good news. Come on! Open up your mind:)
  5. You're wrong, I'm already in my 2nd week of orientation in the hospital, and you know wha, there are 5 us newly hired in the unit, you should consuder moving to my area so you see it yourself:)
  6. Well based on my experience, I would say it`s actually good here, it didn`t even take 2 weeks from the time I started applying to some LPN positions before I got many calls for interviews and got hired. I only started applying online 1 week before my exam (May 15, because I don`t want to be bothered while I`m reviewing for the test), Monday of the exam week I got 2 interviews right away, 1 is with Home Care agency and another one for LPN job in a hospital, the home care agency told me after the interview that she`s already hiring me and ask me for a reference, day after, I got a call from Alberta Health Services (Hospital) telling me that she`s going to send me an `offer letter``and ask me if I would take it, so I said YES Of COURSE!!right away, ergo, I had to call the Home Care agency and turn down the job offer:))... Also, I never heard of anyone getting laid-off here in Calgary as far as I know...so...i`m just speaking base on my experience;))
  7. Yap, sorry guys I just found out that it only applies to 'conditional registrants' in alberta, Anyway, you'll find out yours next week for sure:)
  8. Hey guys! Check the registry! I'm under 'conditional practice permit' my 2 conditions are: to pass the cpnre and 200 hours work reference, just this afternoon when I check the registry, the 'cpnre' condition is gone, I'm pretty positive it means I passed!
  9. Yes Fiona, I signed the form for background check and for the reference check
  10. Hi, Yes! I was accepted! I got a call from the manager this morning telling me that she's going to send me a job offer and orientation schedule. It's in Unit 27, Dialysis unit
  11. Thank you. I was interviewed at Foothills Hospital, I'm crossing my fingers right now as my interviewer mentioned to me that she has to interview 5 more applicants. What's giving me hope is that she ask for SIN, License and date of birth:)
  12. I had an interview this morning for LPN position in Alberta Health Services, after my interview, my interviewer ask for my SIN and License number and showed me a sample of how the orientation would go, is this a good indication that I may get a job offer?
  13. Agree 200%:lol2:
  14. Thank you Silverdragon,,yeah, i think that's all i can dofor now:)
  15. Hi Xiani, i think we both applied to CRNNS last September, do you mind if I ask the status of your application?Have you got anything from them since then?
