What does CARNA Registration Status 'Preliminary Assessment - Cleared' mean ?
Saroj. As you said you received a letter from CARNA, are you eligible to take the CRNE ? If you are eligible, have you already stated preparing for the exam ? I also did my nursing in USA and I have received a letter from CARNA indicating that I am eligible to take the exam. Maybe we can give each other ideas. Thanks. Rudo

I have a question in regards to American vs Canadian Nursing
I am currently new in Canada, but I have got an ADN from USA . I am not sure Ontario will give you the opportunity to sit for the RN boards instead you may end up applying for LPN.The hard part is the process you will have to go through to complete your BSN, most schools will ask you to go back to school for another 4 years, that is after they license you as an LPN. 4 years again on top of the 3 years you have already completed for your ADN program. You need to do a lot of brousing before you move or else it will be painful. Not even counting the time you will need to study for the LPN boards.( I assume you did a 2 year program with a million pre-nursing classes )

How much difference in preparation for nclex and crne?
Then what happened to those Phillipine nurses whose BSN was found to be equivalent LPN ? Were they given an opportunity to sit for the LPN boards or were they completely denied. Just wondering. Rudo

CARNA Timescale
I am just wondering if your assessment went through and how long was the wait all in all. I sent my papers 4 months ago and I am still waiting. Are you a BSN nurse or Associate Degree nurse ?

Associate degree
I need help, I did my nursing in the States ( Associate Degree or The two year diploma RN) before moving to Canada late last year.I have applied for licensure in Alberta But I don't know if I will be Approved to take the boards. Is there anyone who was approved with an Associate degree only from the States ? What are my chances and how long does it take before they reply or complete the assessment ? I am worried that my education will be worthless here. Will they give me a chance to work as an LPN ? Thanks
