I took a job at $22/hour.
Please don't base your job selection solely on salary and benefits. You may regret it. I was talking to an RN today who came from a very well-paying job (she started as a new grad). She was overworked and underappreciated. The conditions she described sounded dangerous~it's a very busy ER. She came to another hospital because of what she's heard about it and their philosophy. There are so many other things to consider other than salary.
I agree with the previous poster who stated don't base your job selection solely on wages and benefits.
Really, if you are working in an understaffed facility (but making more money) I don't believe you will walk around saying "Gee I sure am burdened with an overwhelming patient load-- but it doesn't matter because I am making 2 dollars more an hour than I would somewhere else!"
$23/hr is what i hear most of my friends, also with bsn, are getting in the baltimore area. i based my first job selection on where i feel would expose me to the most interesting and challenging patient cases, in a big urban teaching hospital, that is also right across the street from my nursing school, so i knew the area already.

I don't know what to expect out of negotiating my salary and all that good stuff this summer when I graduate and be an RN BSN. My desicion is based on monatary and benefit package. What have you guys seen? What do you guys think I should expect?
