It is a difference for working in the med center. No, night differential is another 4.75. I know I was slightly shocked at first too.
Never heard of that. I did know some hospitals pay a little extra or give a stippend for parking, but $4/hr is nice, not nice enough to make up for the drive for me. My 7 minute/3 mile drive (each way) with no traffic is worth more than the $48/shift that would mean a 1+ hour/30 mile drive (each way) with traffic plus parking hassle.
Heck it takes me longer to walk inside and clock in than it does for me to drive to work.
But even the base pay of $28.84 is really good, the highest I have heard actually.

Wow. That is the highest Ive heard so far at TMC. And with $4.75 differential? Pretty much $33/hr. Not bad for a starting new grad.
and you said there is a $4 geographical differencial? You mean to say you get the night shift differential AND the geographical differential? So $37?
Hi, I was just offered a job in a pediatric hospital in the TX Medical Center. I have almost 2 years experience and was offered a base pay of $32.80. Do you think I should have negotiated for more or is this around the right amount for my experience. I do not have any pedi experience. Please let me know what do you think?
With two years of experience, the rate of pay you were offered sounds very accurate.Hi, I was just offered a job in a pediatric hospital in the TX Medical Center.
