I NEED ADVICE ON ISSUE AT WORK. I WAS INVOLVED IN A CODE AND NOW MY RISK MANAGER IS WANTING A SIGNED STATEMENT FROM ME ABOUT THE
CODE IN WHICH THE PATIENT ALREADY EXPIRED, BUT WAS CODED ANYWAY. I AM THE LVN. THE HOSPITAL IS TELLING ME THAT IT WILL NOT BECOME PUBLIC RECORD. BUT I DO NOT BELIEVE THEM. IT WAS A QUESTIONABLE DEATH. I JUST WENT TO ASSIST NOW I'M IN THE MIDDLE OF IT ALL. I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD NOT MAKE A STATMENT AT ALL AS I WAS NOT IN CHARGE. SHOULD I SIGN A STATMENT FOR RISK MANAGEMENT??

Hello, ccalvin,:balloons:
I am not sure about what you are hesitant??
You are one of the participants. You do not have to be "in charge" in order to sign anything......

Risk management reports never become public documents. They sare strictly for use in-house.
Are there some other issues that you are saying it was a questionable death?
