Well. Ok then. Nuff said. How is it that I ask a very simple and direct question and I get my ASS ripped by "well-meaning" folks that I do not even know? That's how it feels.....

If you can't say anything nice; say something nice. On that note, thank you all for your input and unsolicited advice.

We weren't trying to offend you, just trying to save you money. TCN's stuff is very expensive, and if you go over to the Distance Learning forum, you'll see that a lot of people are not satisfied with their service.

Hello, I would like to help you with the info you are looking for. I am currently thru EC and TCN, the way it works is ALOT better than a standard college. You pay $455 for each course you need, prerequisites and nursing concept courses, etc, that includes the class and the materials (which they call modules), you do not get textbooks, the professors went through the textbooks pulled all of the most important info from them and put them in these learning modules for you to learn by, it also includes the study guides and practice quizzes and tests before you go take the real test local, then when you are done you go thru EC to do your clinicals. I had taken sociology and psych while in lpn school so didnt need to take for the lpn to rn, so i only needed 10 classes total, my total price was around $11,000, TCN finances their portion for all the online classes, financing guaranteed and EC has to be paid up front for your clinicals which is around $4000. I have had great luck so far and no problems, email me with any questions or to clear up anything. Hope this helps

the cpne (clinicals) is not 4000, it is $1825 or $1875. the price just went up and i cant remember which it is. and it is not $455 per course it is $455 + the nursing concept fee of $ 235 per test... or you can go to e-bay and pick up these concepts books for $45 a piece. now i'm not sure about the general education courses but the concepts courses are $235, i just registered for nc1. ec also has payment plans and all this can be paid out ....

i interpret the statement of $455 per module means only tcn cost; excluding the $235 to test for each nc module with excelsior. i know what excelsior costs, my question was for tcn costs.

Thank you so much TANABOO79! You were able to answer my question directly. I am curious though how you came up with $4000 for the CPNE.........

I gather that you did NOT purchase any texts or study material from EC then? If not, do you feel that TCN prepared you sufficiently for each module test? Where are at now with the whole process??

Thanks again!

Everyone, please keep the personal remarks out of your posts. Doesn't add to and simply detracts from the topic when making it personal.

To the OP: Remember, when asking a question, there will be a variety of answers, some will be able to directly answer your question(s) and others will be able to answer indirectly. Sometimes, the questions do not have a direct and simple answer and takes a group effort on the part of the membership to assist.

Thanks, ya'll.

Why on earth would you use them? They HAVE no LPN to RN course. They pretend to have a connection with www.excelsior.edu but have absolutely NONE.

I am part of tLVN to BSN bridge in California and they do not pretend to have a connection with Excelsior, infact they state on ALL their materials that they are NOT affiliated. I love the program, it works for me and since I am in CA, I cannot use excelsior, but I can test out of Excelsior based exams to gain entry into Indiana States Distance BSN program.
