WGU Prelicensure CA May 16

Nursing Students Western Governors

Hi all,

Is anyone applying for the prelicensure RN program in CA with a May start date? I just finished submitting my application, so the waiting begins. I'd love to hear from others, and good luck to us all!

Booooo. What the heck. I want to know NOOOOOOWWW!!! I wonder why the holdup..I was told first 2 weeks of March max. I wonder if they had a good amount of applicants.

I'm also waiting to see if I was accepted for the May cohort. I was denied for February so I doubt anything will change this round. I will need to increase my teas score in order to have a chance

Do you mind if I ask what your TEAS was? I got an 85 and the enrollment counselor said that was very competitive but I've seen other posts saying a 90 is about the lowest they'll accept..

That's a great score. I got a 78- so it was suggested I re-take. I have a 4.0 gpa

How the hell did you get rejected with a 78 teas and a 4.0 gpa? I have approx the same as you. I have a 4.0 in the sciences and an 80 TEAS. Now i'm super worried that I won't be accepted also. What is your background?

I know. I will need to retake the teas. I don't have a health care background so I know that's a factor as well

thats really odd because I've talked to them and they had told me that they accepted people in the 70's. Did they tell you why they didn't take you?

No- not a specific reason. I was told it was very competitive and unfortunately I wasn't selected that round. The counselor suggested re taking the teas for a higher score

Dang. I got an 85 teas but only a 3.0 on sciences. I'm hoping my healthcare background helps me out but who knows. My overall GPA is a bit better but nothing close to a 4.0. I unfortunately felt like pouring my time into work rather than school..we'll see what happens!

Well good luck to you. Hopefully you get in. I will try again if I'm denied for May

Hi, just an update. The reason why the selection is taking so long is because they have just added another cohort for May in Mission Viejo and they are selecting for that cohort as well. Good news for us, and they will be selecting at a higher rate. We should know later this week or most likely next week for sure.
