WGU Prelicensure CA May 16

Published

Hi all,

Is anyone applying for the prelicensure RN program in CA with a May start date? I just finished submitting my application, so the waiting begins. I'd love to hear from others, and good luck to us all!

I was told they'd notify in the first 2 weeks of March.

Question: does anyone know if they'd allow a 1 cohort "deferment"? I may be doing a job change and moving and I think it might be easier with all the transitions not to throw in nursing school as well and trying to get time off for labs when I just started the job...I don't want them to just drop me if I decide to simply wait 1 cohort start period(if that makes sense).

Opinions?

Check with your enrollment counselor for clarification. There's always another cohort to throw your name in with but you can only have one in at a time.

I think that you would be able to do a deferment if you have a legitimate excuse like a medical reason. But with the online courses, wouldn't you still be able to move and study?

. It seems as if it's certainly difficult to get into but if we have a high TEAS score and high science scores we should be ok!

I've applied to the May cohort as well and I think there may be around 100 applicants but they're only going to take about 15 people.

I hope so .... im super nervous. If you don't mind me asking, what was your TEAS score

I got an 86. It also depends on the science grades as well. We'll know for sure next month!

That is a great score. congrats. Mine was a little bit lower but my gpa was pretty and I have a solid background. I am hoping that is enough.

I had a 76 TEAS when I applied back in California. I eventually went for a Texas cohort only because California you need higher grades because it is way more competitive with the number of applicants for each spot.

yeah it's crazy here in California to get in anywhere! I'm really hoping I make it into this May cohort.

Has anyone heard back from the school?

I have not..I was told the first week or two of March so I'm hoping to hear something within the next week. If not, I'll probably call and see what's up.

So I called them today and they told me that they will make their decision for may in late march to mid april.
