WGU Pre-licensure Questions

Published

Hello, I am new to this site. I was wondering if anyone who has or will attended Western Governors University would answer some of my questions.

Was it really hard to be accepted into the program?

Do you know how many spots their are (specifically in California)?

Did you have great grades prior to entering the program?

Thanks for the insight.

There is a dedicated forum under nursing schools that you may find the answers you seek

I am sure the moderators will move this, but in the mean time I can try and answer your questions.

This really depends heavily on the location. For my state it was not all that competitive to get in. I had really good grades though and a good score on TEAS, but I know others in my cohort were more lukewarm with mediocre grades. Nobody had bad grades that I know of though. However, from all that I have heard about the California cohorts they are more competitive to get in. Furthermore the job market is much tougher there. Most cohorts I believe have 10-12 students, but I don't know how many cohorts they run a year in California. You have nothing to lose by applying. I'd talk to an adviser and see what they have to say.
