Hello everyone! I hope that your nursing journey is going well! I am interested in knowing if anyone within the group plans to apply to the Nov. 2018 cohort for the FL WGU prelicensure program. I am in the enrollment process at the moment but it would be nice to connect with others that have the same plans.

Hi there,
I started the process for enrollment to the Nov 2018 FL cohort this past May, but ran into a road block with my pre-req sciences. My science gpa is too low. I was advised by my enrollment counselor to retake at least one of them. Sciences are my weak spots. I also have to take a history. I'm frustrated because I have my A.A. degree already and didn't need the history to graduate. I joined the Facebook group for WGU Pre-licensure BSN group and they were very encouraging through my frustrating journey. At the end of the day, in order to qualify for the Nov 1st cohort. I have to retake a science and get an "A", take a history and not to mention the TEAS 6. When I started my journey, I thought I only had to take the TEAS 6:( If you don't mind me asking. What is your Stats....science gpa, overall gpa and TEAS 6 scores???
I ran into the same road block. I had planned on doing the rest of my science pre reqs through straighter line and study.com, but they said I had to do a history class even though I have my AA as well, and 2 classes away from my BAS. So that kind of derailed my plan. But I started the history class on study.com and I am 60% done within a week so hopefully I can finish this week and get back on my science. I would suggest using study.com before straighterline for any pre reqs because that has caused me to waste a lot of time with the way straighterline courses are set up. They are supposed to be opening a cohort for the Tavares area but my enrollment counselor didn't have dates yet. I'm not sure of my stats because that info was not in my transcript evaluation. I will ask and try to get back with you. I will be taking the TEAS this month so I will keep you posted on that as well. I live in Ocala where do you live?

Hi there! I am applying for this cohort as well. I just have to take my TEAS, which is in 2 weeks. Has anyone taken it yet? What was it like? I've been out of school for a few years, so the material is a little rusty.

I am applying too. Good luck future nurses. I hope to work with you all and make a difference in the lives of others.
One of the admission counselors told me they will be opening a tavarres location. Does anyone plan to apply to that one instead of Daytona?
I don't know anything about another location. Daytona is closer to me though, so I will be doing that. I'm taking my TEAS this week and I will be done with my application for the Nov cohort. It's weird not knowing where you stand in the application process. I know that Florida isn't as competitive as other states (from what I've seen), but it would be nice to know about how many people usually apply, what can make you stand out, etc. I think my TEAS is what will make or break me though. We will see!
So I took the Teas this past Thursday with limited time to study due to work and classes, but i wanted to give you all the run down on the test if you haven't taken it yet. The reading and math was the easiest for me and I scored a 83% on reading and a 87.5% on math. I didn't do as well with the science and english but the enrollment counselor mentioned that the reading and math is the most important to them. Overall I would say read up on testing strategies because that really helped me such as reading the questions before the passage or marking questions for review. Also study your A&P topics, scientific method/reasoning, chemical reactions, chemical bonds, and cell structure. These are the topics I could remember that you could possibly
Congrats! 80s seem to be high scores for this test. I took mine this morning. It's been 5 years since I graduated with my Bachelor's degree and about 8-9 years since I took most of these classes. I studied off and on for a few months because I basically had to relearn a lot of the science material. The science portion was definitely more detailed than I expected. Math and reading were super easy for me. I know they say that the reading score is important to them since the program is an online based program. I don't have my score yet, they said it can take up to 48 hours since I tested at a PSI center. I'm just anxious and ready! I think I did well enough though, hopefully. The tests in the Mometrix ATI TEAS Secrets book were really similar to the actual test, so if my test score is anything like I was doing on those practice tests, I will be happy.
Hi I apologize for being MIA. Yeah it's definitely a bummer how we both got derailed. I will definitely look into study.com for the history I need. The only thing is with the science portion, I don't think you can do study.com because it requires a lab and I don't believe study.com was an option when my enrollment counselor sent me a link of the schools/programs they accept for pre-reqs. No worries about your stats, thanks anyways. I've decided to apply for Daytona State College Bridge program for Spring of next year and if I don't get in. I'll apply for WGU May 2019 program, since both require the TEAS. I just had a lot going on and couldn't make the Sept 1st deadline. I take the TEAS Sept 26th. Best of luck to you. I leave in Palm Coast BTW:)
