I haven't seen any forums about the upcoming application for next year's MSN-E program so I thought I'd start! I have a degree from University of Oregon in Human Physiology with experience as a Medical Scribe and in a variety of PT and Chiropractic settings! (Switched from PT/Kinesiology to Nursing!) I'm interested in the FNP track and am really excited about Western. Feel free to post any questions/stats/etc and join me in freaking out over apps! Are any of you attending any of the upcoming information sessions as well?
Does anyone know how this will affect getting in and starting the post-masters FNP program after getting the MSN? The requirement for the post-masters FNP is min 1 yr experience as an RN....does anyone know if the RN experience starts after the first 2 yrs before getting the MSN or after getting the MSN the 3rd year?
I received an email today reminding me of my (formal) interview. However, it says that lunch is included.Did anyone go to a (formal) interview that included lunch and also go through an interview process?
This was actually an error in the email sent. The formal interviews do not include lunch with the current students. Did anyone attend interviews that would like to share their experience? :)

From what I understood, you are required to get your RN license by the end of your 6th semester (end of semester one of the MSN program). From then on, they want you working as an RN. Some students end up 'interning' as an RN for a while if they can't find a paid position (because you won't have a degree yet). I asked if the 1 year RN experience requirement for the FNP program must be paid RN work, and they weren't sure and said they would get back to us. Anybody else understand differently? Hope this helps.
Just out of curiosity... has anyone asked about deferring their application/acceptance for a year for the new curriculum?
They mentioned at my PreviewDay that you cannot defer your application this year for next year since they are transitioning to the new curriculum. You will need to do another application
I had a formal interview and thought it went ok! My biggest advice is just to relax and be yourself because they're trying to get to know you as a person. Most of the time was spent waiting for your turn to switch from interview to writing portion and vice versa.
I thought the faculty was very warm and seemed like they really appreciated each individual.
Congratulations!!! I've reached out to some people who recently just graduated from the program and they said they enjoyed it and the education was good!
Is there any more insight or advice you can give me for the EAOD? Mine is coming up next Wednesday and I'm pretty nervous.... I really want to get in!

I am also scheduled for a formal interview with lunch and meet the faculty/students.
