Western University MSN-E 2018

Published

I haven't seen any forums about the upcoming application for next year's MSN-E program so I thought I'd start! I have a degree from University of Oregon in Human Physiology with experience as a Medical Scribe and in a variety of PT and Chiropractic settings! (Switched from PT/Kinesiology to Nursing!) I'm interested in the FNP track and am really excited about Western. Feel free to post any questions/stats/etc and join me in freaking out over apps! Are any of you attending any of the upcoming information sessions as well?

Got an early acceptance interview!

Hi All - I'm new to this website. I just received an email from Western inviting me to interview with them.

My question is if anyone knows the exact address where we need to meet. The conformation email I received only gave the campus's main address but it did not give the name of the building of where to meet. I unfortunately didn't take a screenshot of the "schedule" screen which gave details of the meeting because I figured it was going to be sent in a conformation email. I also emailed the school but the response wasn't much help. Also my interview is scheduled for 12:00PM but the conformation email asks me to arrive at 8:30AM. I also emailed the school about this question but they said it was a typo. I just wanted to check if anyone else encountered this. I'm going to call and email Alberto tomorrow because he seems to be on point.

Thank you in advance for your help and Congratulations to everyone who received an interview or Early Acceptance.

What's the difference between the early acceptance and regular interview? Does early acceptance mean you've already been accepted? I got an email for an interview and got to select an interview slot. I selected January 26. The email said to expect to be there for 4 hours! Does anyone know why 4 hours? Any tips for the interview?

Thanks! Goodluck to everyone!:)

Hi fz.lexa, congrats on your interview! I did some research from previous years and those who are invited to attend the early acceptance opportunity day have a higher chance of getting in. But, they might invite EAOD applicants to come back for a formal interview if they didn't get to know you enough.

How does everyone feel about Western? Pros/cons? Is this your top school?

Hi Fz.lexa,

I emailed the school because I too thought the 4 hours was a mistake but the person who responded to me did not clarify.

Did you receive an exact address of where we need to meet? This also was not clarified in the email I sent to the school.

Thanks

Has anyone heard anything yet? I'm still waiting ......getting really anxious and tired of this process!!!!!

@fz.lexa, I believe the extended hours includes a tour of the campus, a financial aid workshop, and the interview itself. Good luck! I also have an interview and would like to know any good tips

When I went to WesternU's preview day, the current students said they were notified of their interview between Jan. and Feb. so there are interviews later on. I would say to try not to stress too much over it. There's still hope.

Good luck.

I have recently given up my spot for an interview. I have accepted my admissions into Johns Hopkins. Goodluck to everyone and their upcoming interviews!

Hello everyone! I also got an interview! I was wondering if anyone has any advice on how to prepare for an entry level MSN interview? Does anyone know if the interview will have scenario base questions? Sorry you guys I just get really nervous when it comes to interviews >___

Hi everyone, I was also confused about check in time for the interview but after emailing the assist director of admissions, she told me to ignore the check in time that was on the confirmation email and to just check in at the time that I️ signed up for the interview, so my check in time will be 12:45

I'll be there at 12:45pm as well. I received an additional email today from WesternU confirming the 12:45 pm arrival time rather than the 8:30am time listed in original email.
