Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!
I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.
Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?
Can someone email me the link to the Facebook page, I'd really appreciate it. My email is: [email protected]
Hey all! First I would like to congratulate everyone who got accepted. This is my first post but I have read this forum for a while now and its helped a lot. I just wanted to say that I also got a accepted as an alternate. I have been counting how many people also got in as alternates in order to get a better picture. It would make things easier if we knew our rank!
uce - totally agree.
Seems to be that everyone accepted who posted on this thread are certain they're attending. But I know not everyone is on this blog...I guess we'll have to wait for who knows how long.
I was reading last year's thread and someone on there specified that Western chooses the same number of alternates as how many they're admitting for the year. I'm not sure if that's true though...
I think that each time a spot becomes available, the committee looks at all the alternates and makes a decision. I like the fact that other schools have ranks, so you have a better idea of where your are, so you don't just sit there and wait. I remember someone from the interview staff saying that an alternate was called as late as the first week of school. To me that is really scary and I don't want to gamble on the fact that they may or may not call me. I just left my deposit with another FNP program, but it requires me to move out of state, so I don't have time to wait around for Western if it comes down to the wire. Good luck to everyone!
Hi everyone, I posted a while back and have just been observing lately. I just noticed that some people said they hadn't gotten anything so they are assuming that rejection letters have not gone out yet, well I got my rejection letter yesterday by snail mail. It's pretty discouraging considering that I have a 4.0 in all my sciences and a 3.6ish in my overall gpa. I'm not sure what else I could have done since the interview went really well too.I almost feel like there was a mistake... Oh well. I guess it wasn't meant to be. A huge CONGRATS :yeah:to everyone who has been accepted! and good luck to everyone else.

I received an alternate letter in the mail today as well. I'm wondering how to proceed in the days, weeks, and possibly months to come. I've been thinking about how to direct my path and where my karma is taking me.
