Western University MSN-E Application Time!

Well, I thought this day would never come, but the application period for Western U's MSN-E program starts a week from today!

I'm beyond nervous, as I've been working on this career change for over three years now. Every time I write a little of my personal statement I get a little shaky. This is so unlike me too, I'm usually cool as a cucumber.

Anyone else here planning to apply for 2012? Are you as nervous as I am?

Thanks for the info Maxpower! So awesome of you guys from the previous cohorts to keep an eye on this board and help calm our nerves. Good luck to everyone interviewing tomorrow and I look forward to meeting those of you who are interviewing on the 19th!

Hey Mochikat,

I think they interview something like 150+ people last year and I do believe that is the number of people they plan on interviewing this year as well. Good luck and try and stay patient.

I wonder when the next round of interview invites will be going out. This waiting is horrible... :(

same here I have been dying to find out but when I called last week this is what I was told not sure if it is 100% accurate but they said that they are anticipating to notify people this week and they hope to have interviews done by the end of feb which is odd cause in the beginning I was told that it might go all the way until March so I am not sure. Maseca, I agree! This waiting game is driving me nuts! Hopefully we do hear something this week. I feel like they would need to notify us sooner than later for how many they would need/want to interview...who knows.For those who have already interviewed- how'd it go?!

Hi guys! In the information packet, it says the second round of interviews will be in mid-February between Feb. 14-20. I don't remember the exact dates but you get three days to choose from. It also said there were around 400 applications and half of the applicants will be invited for an interview. Overall, the interviewers and the directors of the Interview Day were really nice. There were about 17 of us in the morning group on Jan. 19 and we were broken up into 3 groups. One group was sent off to do a writing assignment, another for the campus tour, and the last group stayed in the main room waiting to be individually escorted to the interview room. We were done by 12pm. I wish you guys the best of luck!

A writing assignment? Wow - first time I've heard about that. Thanks for the heads up. Had no clue that was a component of the interview process. Thanks for the heads up!

I'm also interested to see how interviews went for others. Especially with around 200 people applying, did they say how many spots were available or open this year?

does anyone know how long they had to wait before they received an email saying that their application has been processed and is ready for the committee to review? I still haven't received that email and it feels like forever!

Don't worry too much about the writing assignment. It's pretty simple and they don't take it into consideration in terms of admission.
