I just got accepted into the FNP MSN-E program at Western University of Health Sciences.:D Has anyone gone through this program? If so, could you please share what you liked and disliked about the program. Any feedback would be helpful.

No I am not an RN. I have just graduated with my bachelor's degree (not in nursing) a week ago and am planning on starting a nursing program in 2009.

I received an email about a week ago stating my application was complete and they are reviewing it and will update me on the status by email or phone.

When did you apply? I sent my application in on Nov 30.

I applied to the MSN-E program that begins Fall 2009. From my records I have that the applications were due November 1st, so I believe I sent my paperwork in the last week of October. I received an e-mail on November 3rd saying that my application was received and that I would be notified of my status at a later date. December 18th was when I received my acceptance.

They had extended the deadline to Dec 1st so that's why I sent mine in at the end of Nov. So ate you going to go there?

I hope I get in because this is the only school I applied to.

I've applied to many schools so I'm not quite sure where I'm going to go yet. This was my first acceptance, though! It's still too early to hear from my other schools so I won't be able to make a decision until spring most likely. Best of luck to you! I hope you hear back soon with either an acceptance or an interview! That would be great news for the holidays :)

I am not from Southern California so I had not heard about WesternU until this year. What have you heard about the program, its reputation, etc? Why is this your top choice?

I'm from the UK and i've applied to a couple direct entry MSN programs for non RNs with a BS.

I also applied for fall 09 entry to westerns program, they emailed me the second week of december asking for a conversion of my grades to american gpa, and i havent heard back from them.

I'm hoping i'll hear something this week.

I'm a current student and know of a girl who was abroad when she was applying. Make sure that if you're asked to interview, you ask for a phone interview if you don't want to fly out. My friend was told she HAD to be here and once she got here they told her she didn't have to come, she could've done a phone interview. Needless to say, she was quite upset that she had taken time off work, paid for flight, etc. If you're told that you HAVE to come out, call and ask to speak with Mitzi. She is really helpful. If you or anyone else has questions, let me know. We just started our 2nd semester.
