I didn't see a thread, so I started one.

I am planning on applying this fall for the Direct Entry MSN program. Anyone else?

I'm impatient too!!! And I can't help but feel hurt after finding out they are doing more interviews. That definitely doesn't help the situation.

cp0710 I think nearly all schools require a 3.0 GPA, but if you are not interested in re-taking any science courses, you could potentially apply to ADN (community college) nursing programs and use the 2 yrs of nursing courses to boost your GPA, then apply to a BSN or MSN program after. Most ADN programs select students through a lottery system so as long as you meet the minimum requirements, you can be entered in the lottery. If you have to go that route, at least you will be working towards your goal of being a nurse without repeating courses you have already taken. Hope that helps a little :)

The community colleges around me all have the 3.0 science gpa requirement. It is really frustrating. I do not want to retake a class I have already taken. Maybe that is just what I have to do, suck it up. I feel so very discouraged.

Gah! I called again, but am not sure who I talked to. She wasn't as nice as the one I spoke to earlier this week. I asked again if all of the acceptances have gone out, she said no again (GOOD NEWS!). I also asked when we might expect to hear more acceptances and she wasn't able to answer that. I also told her I had heard they were extending more interview invites and she didn't know anything about that. She started to warm up a little and said she understood where we are coming from. I asked her if the possibility of more interviews is negative for us and she didn't seem to think so. She also suggested I email DM (hopefully you get who that is) and voice my concerns that way.

So, my guess is that we won't hear anything else before the weekend seeing how it is Friday afternoon. Maybe like Ceci said, they will send something out next Tuesday? But I am still concerned about the additional interviews. I can't help but feel inadequate!

Anyway, I hope that everyone has a good weekend! :)

I couldn't agree more!! My husband thinks they may be doing it for ranking statistics since they include how many people interviewed / accepted offer / rejected offer and so on. For some reason, I feel that since they doubled in people applying for the program this year that they have more candidates to cherry pick from. Either way, it's frustrating! I know it makes me question if I was not a good enough candidate for their school. UGH!!! I need to stop over analyzing everything! :notworthy:

I've seen two people now that received a rejection and then an invite. Both people said that admissions said it was a mistake and they'd like them to come for an interview. So I suppose we wait and see! DM will be back in the office Monday so I plan on calling (again) haha

BeesMama: I don't know why, but for some reason I find it a bit difficult accepting the fact that more people are getting interview!! :yawn: But I guess we will never know! hahaha!!

Hi everyone! I am new to this discussion board, but I noticed a lot of you are speculating as to whether this new interview date is in fact legitimate or not. I also recieved a rejection about a week or two ago via email and then got an interview invite on Wednesday of this week. I remember staring at the email for about a minute because I thought I was reading something wrong, but apparently they really do want to interview more people. Unfortunately I cannot give you a reason, of course. I responded via email right away because I was at work and was unable to call and recieved a confirmation email within the hour. The interview date is March 21. I was not provided with any other options as to when I could interview. I know this is probably not what any of you want to hear, but please don't hold it against any of us late interviewers! We are feeling the same exact things you are all feeling, and may be feeling even worse since we already had to deal with the rejection. It will work out for everyone how it is supposed to. It is a great program and only natural for us to all want to be accepted! Good luck to everyone.

Welcome! And congrats on the interview. I think it is just hard not knowing the why behind it all. They supposedly had 220 interviewees, and it is hard not to think we just weren't good enough...if that makes sense? I don't think anyone would hate on the people getting interview invites! :)

Keep us posted! And hopefully we will all get closure sooner rather than later!
