West Hills College Lemoore RN program Fall 2020

Published

Hi everyone!

The application period for fall 2020 opened recently. I wanted to make this discussion for students applying to the RN program. I think this is a great way to discuss stats and questions that anyone may have In regards to the application and program.

They do not give out that information.. I asked what number alternate I was and she said they don’t tell us. But in the letter it says that as an alternate we attend orientation and should be prepared to accept a seat. If we don’t get a call we are guaranteed a spot in the RN program for fall 2021, if we keep our alternate status. So either way as an alternate if you keep your spot you’re in for sure.

Hey Brooke,

I just called and got an answer. The school messed up on my last name so they had the wrong email. I am also an alternate. I am not allowed to know what alternate I am. I wonder how many alternates there are? Will see you at orientation!

I'm just glad I know now! The suspense was killing me.

I’m so glad you called!! Can’t wait to meet you!

Also we’re guaranteed a spot next year!!

That’s awesome! I’m sure you’ll all get in! People have a week to accept or deny their spot and I know some are waiting on other schools still! CONGRATS! Can’t wait to meet you both!

Yay!! CONGRATS! Either way you’re in!

Thank you Diana!

I was so shocked to read we are guaranteed a spot next year if we don’t get in this year. I got in as an alternate at COS but never got a call so that was that. But it’s great to know here it’s different!! Well worth a little wait!

Yes, knowing that at some point I will be starting the program is a HUGE relief. This was my first time applying to an RN program. I am so glad I applied at WHCL. From my understanding, most schools don't offer that option. I am crossing my fingers and praying I get to start this round but if not, at least I know I have seat for Fall 2021.

Irene,

yes most schools don’t offer that option! I graduated from West Hills and loved all the staff and all my years there. So I’m happy to wait or hopefully get in this year!

I agree! I went to both WHC and COS and I felt and have always told everyone WHC has always been more helpful to me. Yes, I believe they are the only ones who guarantee a spot for next year. I am so excited for you two! Good luck and I hope to meet you both!

Does anyone know how many alternates there are? And does anyone know the point cut off? I emailed asking these questions, but haven’t heard anything back.

I don’t know. I know COS has 10 spots so I’m sure it’s the same. Every year the point cut off is different depending on everyone applying I believe last year Or year prior was 85-93.

I was an alternate fall 2019 for the LVN to RN bridge at COS, there was 5-6 alternates for LVNs I’m sure every school does it a little different though.

Diana,

When you emailed to accept did they respond back with a confirmation?

Diana,

Thank you!

I know we’ll meet at the online orientation. But hopefully I get to be in class with you!
