Hi everyone! My name is Julian I just applied to WHCC RN program for the Fall 2021 cohort. I thought it would be necessary to create this topic to discuss and talk and freak out about the upcoming nursing selection together LOL. I applied with 91.35 points. Has anyone else applied yet???

Who knows? I’ve seen in past forums most people who get in tend to have 87+ points. But every year is different. You are definitely right about everybody deserving a chance. Some people have good grades and the experience category throws them off. Or just different life circumstances doesn’t mean they wouldn’t be absolutely great for the program. I feel like personal statements should be taken into consideration.

I totally agree! I don't have any healthcare experience, I just got lucky enough o have good grades in my pre reqs and stuff. I would hope they take that into consideration somehow. I only got a few extra points for being low income and first generation family to attend college... so we will see how that adds up I guess. Best of luck to everyone!

I dislike the fact that they take points away for not having some of the GE stuff or extra courses like nutrition. Losing those points makes me less competitive even though I have good stats otherwise.

Exactly or even for repeating courses. Some people, myself included, had to repeat a prereq course do to life circumstances that are often times out of our control. It really sucks that points are taken away for that.

Good luck also!

Yeah, we will hear next week, not this week due to more applications than anticipated. My friend is a current student at WHC and that's what they told her.

So like 7.5% chance of getting chosen, of course it isn’t a lottery so here whoever had more points is in for the win. Good luck everybody! ??
